I acquired my first American bulldog Friday 6-8-18. Heís little over 5 months ole DOB 12-31-17. Heís 45 lbs currently I got the contact to the breeder front britt Garcia. He came from Otakayís bulldogs in Washburn MO. I have some friends that has 2 sisters from Margentina lines they didnít start catching until they were 2+ yro. I canít wait that long for him to mature. So Iím wondering if anyone has some tips on how to continue his prey drive. He doesnít seem to care for a hide right now but is extremely ball driven. Any tips helpful hints would be appreciated. Iíll attach a picture of his ped

Best breeding you possibly could of gotten a puppy from at the time that you did , all the boxes are checked both dogs are great working dogs health tested , but I'm biased the breeding is based on my Bruno dog , good luck with the pup !

Hey all, long time lurker, and working dog enthusiast. Iím coming from a 2.5yo Bandog whoís currently training in APPDA and PSA sports. Looking to trial him this fall and will likely retire him after we obtain our APPDA EL and PSA PDC.

Heís a great dog. Very stable. Natural on off switch, works primarily in prey and switches comfortably and confidently in defense. But at 28.5Ē and 120lbs conditioned - I need something smaller to compete at a higher level with. Heís a great PP dog - but the Mastiff mental maturity and size has definitely slowed down our progress towards the trial field.

Iím Looking into securing more of a sport oriented dog and had a mentor offer me something out of their personal dogs. Iíve been doing a lot of ped sturdy and could use some insight. Based on the breeding they look like the could certainly be high caliber performance type dogs.

Thereís a fair bit of old school Johnson blood? What type of ABs would these be considered. Hybrid? Standard? Performance?

My mentor is an excellent resource. But the outside opinions of other bulldogers is helpful.

Iíve attached peds for your review

American Legendz,
Sounds like you have a plan. Hope it works out well for you. On the up side of your question/dilema I think there are many more honest people, like yourself, involved in this breed now than ever.  Colloquialisms like "Performance Line" that actually do not mean performance, but a specific line labled performance for less than altruistic reasons. All that was subterfuge meant to obfuscate.

Your program is one of the programs I am more interested in seeing develop. I do appreciate your honesty and intentions. I think your tight Boss Hog/ APBT crosses are going to be movers and shakers, and could contribute to development of better bulldogs. You too Teag. Keep up the good work, and just by being honest you make the whole process much easier to understand.

Since I started the MOW thread, and was a major contributor I am glad you liked it American Legendz. I wrote it to be educational, since very few if any detailed sources of information on specific bloodlines exist. As bloodlines are always evolving it is paramount to understand each specific bloodline's place in time, and contribution to future bloodlines.

Dave

I'm new here. Please point me towards the MOW thread. Thanks.

I've definitely seen some other "crap" on here, but if you say or think they are all "Straight American Bulldogs" that's fine. I was just looking for sensible discussion about American Bulldogs or any breed similar. I posted a general comment didn't get a reply so attempted to reach anyone with this one. Only got this response back, no need to reply I won't be posting again. If those are junk some of the stuff I saw on here under N. Mastiff and English should be banned then.

Any alapaha blue blood bulldog, american bulldog, aussie bulldog, banter bulldogge, buldogue campeiro, Ca de Bou, catahoula bulldog, Dorset Olde Tyme Bulldog, , Olde English Bulldogge, Olde Boston Bulldogge, Victorian Bulldog, Valley Bulldog? (Excuse any misspelling, I'm a kinesiology and math minor guy, not a speller lol).
